A true american rescue drama. Very impressive directorial debut by ben affleck. This is a real movie of a fake movie that was used to rescue americans from iran in 1980. Ben afflecks role as tory landez goes for a three on three along with his visionary directorial skills. The movie is gripping and succesful throught and provides us with an insight to the life of the people during the american iran tensions imn the 1970s. Oh, say can you see by the dawn’s early light What so proudly we hailed at the twilight’s last gleaming? Whose broad stripes and bright stars through the perilous fight, O’er the ramparts we watched were so gallantly streaming? And the rocket’s red glare, the bombs bursting in air, Gave proof through the night that our flag was still there. Oh, say does that star-spangled banner yet wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave? On the shore, dimly seen through the mists of the deep, Where the foe’s haughty host in dread silence reposes, What is that which the breeze, o’er the towering steep, As it fitfully blows, half conceals, half discloses? Now it catches the gleam of the morning’s first beam, In full glory reflected now shines in the stream: ‘Tis the star-spangled banner! Oh long may it wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! And where is that band who so vauntingly swore That the havoc of war and the battle’s confusion, A home and a country should leave us no more! Their blood has washed out their foul footsteps’ pollution. No refuge could save the hireling and slave From the terror of flight, or the gloom of the grave: And the star-spangled banner in triumph doth wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! Oh! thus be it ever, when freemen shall stand Between their loved home and the war’s desolation! Blest with victory and peace, may the heav’n rescued land Praise the Power that hath made and preserved us a nation. Then conquer we must, when our cause it is just, And this be our motto: “In God is our trust.” And the star-spangled banner in triumph shall wave O’er the land of the free and the home of the brave! 4 people found this helpful.

Although the movie extremely good, I believe those final suspense scenes are edited and shown in a way to keep the audience engaged and push us out from our comfort zones.. Still gotta appreciate TONY, I literally clapped for his bravery👏👏👏👏. I wonder how big his balls are.. Ben Affleck does deliver a great enigmatic performance as all real C.I.A people are..The fact that he directed this movie gave me chills..

Ben Affleck’s “Argo” is a masterfully-told story of the successful effort to smuggle 6 American diplomats out of Iran during the 1979 hostage crisis. Supported by a terrific cast including Alan Arkin, Bryan Cranston and John Goodman, Affleck creates a terrific balance of emotion, humor and suspense as he takes us through different locations and periods on the timeline of the recon operation, in Cranston’s character’s words “the best bad idea we have”. The attention to detail is amazing, and the movie works on so many levels, never slowing down until its thrilling climax.

Ufff!!!!! What a rescue!!

Argo is simply brilliant! Must watch!! Please!!

Its about a rescue mission of Americans stuck in Iran. The rescue mission’s strategy is very unique in this movie. Unpredictable!!!
They choose to create a fake movie to fake characters to bring those Americans back safely. – what a plot!!

I don’t know how, but the movie is directed in such a way from scenarios 1 to scene n, with so much intelligence, thrill, mystery, climax, wow!!!
It keeps you on the edge of your seat, and I bet you can’t take your eyes of it!

Plus one, for the amazing casting!!
